I love these! The book especially is VERY VERY COOL. But this is probably my favorite. I can understand why it took a while. Really gorgeous. And of course the bunnies! Hehe. This is so incredibly awesome.
thank you love! I just got around answering comments for this post and it's great to know what worked for you. The Burano painting was a pain, but at least it turned out fine (or I would have cried!)
All of this is just amazing! Each picture I kept thinking, this one is my favorite, no *this* one is my favorite. I really loved the second one with the waterway that curves around, it just really felt like it flowed so nicely. Loved it! The cat is very lovely, I like the way you get a sense of mischief from it. And the surfer is amazing! I really love the water, too. I think you've really caught the sense of movement with the wave and the water and the surfer. Very cool! And the 3D and the bunnies. Just too much fun! Thank you so much for sharing with us.
thank you!! so glad you like them! the surfer and the football players were definitely favorite of mines to do, I love trying to convey movement.
WATERCOLOR IS SUCH A BITCH SOMETIMES. especially tomorrow, just wait: I'm going on a weekend of painting with friends and doing it outside? with the wind and the sun and probably the cold (it's supposed to be 17C) should be INTERESTING with the damn water pulling a Loki and being "I DO WHAT I WANT!"
I should branch out mediums, I really should... and show the results of that show if you can and like it, okay? I'd love to see it!
The book with the city skylines has me going all *grabby hands*, it's amazing! Love the minimalistic flowers and the surfer - you really outdid yourself with the different shades of blue there.
I didn't know you had to prep the paper before doing watercolours, huh. It makes perfect sense, though.
Love the bunnies! You should definitely post more of your work. I know I'd love to see it.
ohh, thank you! I think the book project was my favorite of everything I did just because it was different. Not going to like, I love trying to do stuff outside of the box and this was a lot of fun. glad you like the flowers and the surfer too! it was a good year, meaning that I like most of what came out of it.
yeah, if you don't prep the paper to "shrink" it, the deformation gets pretty terrible. With regular watercolor paper (this one was really thin so I could fold the bunnies), it makes it a lot more stable, so you can then put water and not worry it will make lakes in the middle of the painting.
the bunnies were tons of fun to do! and that's... well it! I don't do much more than that in a year, as I only paint when I go to the watercolor class and very very rarely at home because I don't take/find the time. Monday nights, 7 to 10, september to april.... if I didn't take classes, I would just not do anything, i know myself!

to get better the key is to keep doing it... (but I'm lucky, I've been painting watercolors for 12 years now with a great teacher :) )

The surfer is my favorite.
Also the football players because they pop out at you, and that is just awesome.
WATERCOLORS HOW DO YOU DO THEM?
I fail at them. >> I have a big acrylic/guache coming up though for a gun show. I'm exciiited to do it.
