Well, I know it's a hot water radiator system (not steam). Also, the radiators are WAY bigger than the british kind. I have no idea if it's an american vs UK thing or a victorian thing or what, but the size difference is distinct. That said, if I can find special radiator fans for those things, that would be AMAZING.

I am reading Fortress in the Eye of Time by C.J. Cherryh. Nee keeps trying to get me to read her work but I've mostly just not been drawn in by it. This one, though, is working for me quite nicely. A bit much exposition sometimes, but I like the characters and am enjoying the story.

I guess things are going well for me. Huh. That's pretty cool, isn't it? Thank you. ::hugs::
It's damned good and cool that things are going well for you ::hug back:: _____
I too have had difficulty getting into C.J. Cherryh. My library doesn't have a copy of that book but I'm going to put in an interlibrary loan request and see if I can give it a try. Thank you for the heads up. :) _____
Looking at the British radiator fans I'm wondering if you could build your own version out of off the shelf stuff from Home Despot, computer fans and a wall wart power supply from an electronics or surplus store...
I know you're smart and are handy with fiber arts. How are you with gluing/screwing pieces of wood together and low voltage electrical wiring?
Wood (::snerk::) I'm just fine with. I am the go-to furniture assembly person around here - such as this desk I mentioned in the post. ^_^ I am technically capable of doing basic wiring, but by no means skilled. That said, Nee is an electrical engineer (and also has some basic woodworking skills) so between the two of us, that might actually be a viable project. woot.

Well, the book is at least worth a try, IMO. It's one of a series, but also a story unto itself so you don't have to commit to the whole series if you don't want to. That said, it is huge. Many, many pages. Took me days and days to read. But I liked it enough that I'm reading the next one, so that's a good sign.

What's the book you're reading?

I don't like visitors as my place is a cramped hole. Having a house with room to entertain visitors sounds pretty good.

Sounds like things are going great for you...which makes me happy. :)
