11 years, 4 months and 26 days after stepping off the plane in Baltimore, Maryland I am now officialy an fully naturalized American.

Today's ceremony at a sports arena just outside Austin, Texas saw myself and 1,047 others, from 91 different countries, pledge our allegiance to the star spangled banner.

Had a text this morning from Gill after she and the girls had exited the Immigration Offices in San Antonio.

The text read U r now the only Brit in the family.

The girls got their American citizenship papers this morning, Gill got hers back in May.

I have another 19 days to wait for mine to become official.

Friday night's signing at Book People was well attended with lots of great questions and discussions. The guys from Day Tripper also got a good reception. There was a lot of positive buzz during and after the event, but for some strange reason the actual book sales were low. Heard at the front of Austin Books & Comics last night. Guy and his girlfriend browsing the various books on the "Pick of the Week" stand. Guy picks up latest issue of well known mainstream title, waves it in the air, and declares to his girlfriend in a voice soft enough to be heard at the back of the store, and probably in the parking lot outside ( Read more... )
