wow, that was intense. poor cas! and sam, and, well, everybody. nice job with the atmosphere - the part with jo was especially creepy.

omg--that was *heartbreaking*!! No wonder 2014 was so horrible. Castiel's involvement in what happens here makes so much sense as to why 2014Cas was so completely broken.

I thought that Sam was going to hold on to a relationship with Cas as an anchor against Lucifer, but I started to fear it wasn't going to happen, and boy, was I right :(

The poor guy was so lost and so alone and wanted to hear from Dean so badly that Dean not talking to him seemed just horribly *cruel*. And then Lucifer made it seem to the boy that Cas found Sam to be a poor substitute for Dean...harsh.

You really had great Sam voice here, and it really broke my heart for him. That dream sequence was *excellent*! I totally did not get he was dreaming even though you gave us clues--when I realized it was a jolt. Great, great bit!

I'm glad I read this even though you really broke my heart--part of the reason I'm a bit babbly in my comment. I hoped for a happy Sassy ending, but this ending, painful as it was, was the perfect one.
