...at least for me and my freaky, nefarious purposes.

I'm thinking a Doc Marten boot (possibly steel-toed) with Birkenstock insoles. Ooooh. It feels a little perverse, mixing punk and hippie style like that, but I think it could potentially totally rock my world, or at least my feet, which as usual are a little sore after a long day (more on ( Read more... )

Birkenstock has an entire line of clogs intendended for the food service and medical industries (ie places that you need closed toed shoes that are comfy enough to stand in for 10 hours). They basically are the normal clogs with a non-permeable outsole. Pretty spendy as I recall though.

My coworker Lisa swears by the Birkenstock chef clogs. You can actually take out their insoles and put the entire shoe in the dishwasher when they get grody. Spendy or not, I'd get them, except I think I want something with a little more ankle support. Also, I have a great gift for stepping out of clogs, which I think would be most unfortunate at work.
