"We came over the wall..."

In her sleep, she stirs and rolls towards him, pressing her nose against the hollow of his throat. It's a familiar position to find herself in, her arm snaking across him, hand smoothing across his hip. She fights valiantly to stay awake but it isn't working. Nelson shoves his head against her hand, looking for attention and Eden lifts her head ( Read more... )

Sleep comes and goes for Babe and he takes it when he can get it, but being tired like this has never happened before. It's one of those times when you just can't keep your eyes open, but you can't remember falling asleep. It's not easy to wake up from sleep like that and when Babe does, he hears the steady clacking of wheels on a track.

Nelson's on his stomach, purring away like there's nothing out of the ordinary. Babe hears Eden like there's a wall between them and she's talking through it. Once the sleep in his ears defogs, he hears things better, but that ain't Eden's voice. When he sits up, he realizes he fuckin' knows these people. Not in the sense that he's met them, but he knows 'em because he's seen them and seen how they are.

"Jesus Christ," he says, scrubbing his hands over his still drowsy face. "What now?"

Davos had woken before either Babe or Eden, which was fortunate, because he had needed the time to gather himself. He wrapped his left hand around the pouch at his neck and mouthed a slient prayer to the Father. It was clear that the gods who had brought him to Tabula Rasa had moved him to a new destination and it only took him a moment to identify where that was ( ... )

To his credit, Norton's only reaction to the whole situation is a twitch of an eyebrow. His eyes never leave Eden, and it's a familiar look. From the moment she met him, she knew that she could trust him. The flood of relief she feels at seeing him is almost unprecedented.

"They're both with me," she says, finally, when she realises that she can talk. "Davos." She points, "And Private Heffron." She looks down at the cat. "The cat's Nelson."

She stands up, cautiously, moving fluidly with the movement of the train.

"Davos...Babe...This is Sergent Alex Norton."

"Hey, how ya doin'?" is all he can muster before he looks out the window.

Yeah, he knows who the guy is and that, in itself, is unnerving. Babe's no less comforted when he looks outside or by the fact that his pig isn't there.

"Eden," he calls her that 'cause that's just what he always calls her and it doesn't strike him as anything but normal, even though this ain't normal. Going to a magical island ain't normal either, but this really, really isn't normal. "This is your train, isn't it?"
