In Brightest Day, In Blackes---omg zombiessss

Jul 16, 2009 16:47

Well yesterday was the kick-off of DC's new massive crossover event, Blackest Night. For those of us who've only suffered the loss of beloved minor characters, this will be interesting. For those of you who loved the sparkling personalities in Superbuddies.

I'm so sorry.

They're like zombies, but IN SPACE )

comics, sharing, sara tops nobody, sara actually has a riddlecane

I KNEW YOU'D DO IT ANYWAY.

And I thought it would fit with the return of The Top.

But the question is, when do they do Thriller?

I hope when Kord is back.

With Max Lord.

Best image ever.

I really like that plan. The sheer image of Arthur Curry doing Thriller is enough for me, but Arthur Curry doing Thriller with Ted Kord and Max Lord? Bitchin.

I'd buy it. And very possibly frame it.

I sooo wanted them to bring back Jack Drake, too, but I suppose that is too much angst for Tim.

I was mesmerized by the concept of someone licking Bruce's skull. Why is that pic not even there?

I was too tempted to say "how many licks does it take..."

And Leah would have killed me.

If I had a scanner, I would post it here and let Leah kill you.

/is awesome like that

Eventually one day Leah will throw me off a cliff anyway. But I won't know when.

It is a cliff

hanger.

Needs to include Ted already. :|

Also wtf is going on in the last page? Is that Bruce's grave or is that his parent's grave? D:

Bruce got a little doggy-like grave next to his parents, unmarked.

Thomas Elliot is currently running around Gotham pretending to be Bruce and giving out a billion dollars of Wayne's money to the city.

Which is super funny, because "Thomas Elliot" is actually "dead" in the public's eyes.

.......

So does this mean Zombie!Batman?

MAYBE?

He's technically in the Omega Sanction, which is like forever living a horrible series of horrible lives, again and again, until the universe destroys itself.

Gaiman wrote a beautiful two-parter on that, what Bruce is experiencing now.

BUT THERE WAS A CORPSE. Superman carried it back in Final Crisis. It's like his consciousness is stowed away, but his corporeal form lingers.

Why is it that everyone who was in the Superbuddies wound up having a truly truly horrific time of it afterwards?

enigmaestro July 16 2009, 21:12:18 UTC
DC hates nice things.

Truly, they do. No one is ever allowed to be *happy* in the DC universe.

Maybe people there don't need to eat, they just get their energy from angst...?

No one. Ever. Happiness died.

That would be the best power supply ever. Angst. No one would starve in the DCU.
