'Tis the season &c for a series of questions gastronomiques. Because I can't really think up the "deep & meaningful nature" stuff rn but there is always time for spam.

• What is your character's favorite food?
• What about drink? Do they have any particular relationship to alcohol?
• Can your character cook?

In other semi-related news, tomorrow ( Read more... )

this is not a meme, questions of a deep & meaningful nature, alex queen of questions, alex creates another tag

MONSTER:
- Stew! ALWAYS. 100% canon.
- he'll drink pretty much everything, but he's a slob so mostly pop. No alcohol for minors.
- nnnot really. He can make popcorn and a really awful stew and that's about it.

SANDMAN
- ....don't eat no more.
- I think he liked beer, but see above
- when he ate, it was like, frozen dinners and grilled cheese and easy foods. He might be tempted to learn under Very Specific Circumstances.

CALENDAR MAN
- likes food that's in season, especially fruit. Has a fondness for turkey, since it's a holiday sort of food. Actually likes fruit cake. Little flag cookies, gingerbread, easter egg candies, that sort of thing. He likes his theme, okay.
- same sort of rule applies, but I don't see him as much of a drinker. A glass of wine or champagne occasionally, on special occasions.
- He can! But uh, I wouldn't recommend eating at one of his dinners.
(Side note: that all being said, he's a light eater, and often forgets to eat. Also this is all headcanon.)

leah never shuts up; nobody is surprised

-Lust really just thinks of food as fuel and a way for her body to not start consuming its Philosopher's Stone resources to survive! That last bit only shows up as a fact in a poorly-translated interview and I totally did not know was a thing until like, two years into playing her, which is why she had no food in her apartment and never ate during the first time she was in-game and now... eats. She just doesn't do it as often as the average person, and only eats on a regular schedule if she's under constant scrutiny--at most she'll have one small meal per day. This is both due to the City making her figurative health bar work slightly differently than it did in canon (it refills itself over time!! she doesn't know that!!) and me not wanting to completely retcon all those stupid casual mentions I made of her not having to eat in like, every log in 2009. Still, she can appreciate good food! it's just not really one of her priorities, since she's always saving money and incapable of getting sick ( ... )

Bender
-His favourite food is the horrendous, semi-lethal food he makes himself, without sufficient taste receptors to actually eat it.
-Is it a surprise that he really likes alcohol?? Mostly because it's his fuel source, but also because drinking is cool!
-Bender's "cooking" has been known to kill people. It's supposedly his job to be the ship's chef. He's not the best at his job ( ... )

Bucky · is not very picky and will try anything, p much. He lived on terrible army food for years sans complaint, and he's really a no-frills needed sort of guy. HE ALSO, canonically, really likes Russian food, and goes out of his way to seek it out, so, you know, he has a preference for hearty stuff and food with cabbages in it apparently, I'm not sure if he's aware of this. I tend to think he's a passable cook because he was the eldest kid in a single-dad family and canonically has done more than his share of KP duty, but he's not really into cooking, he just knows how to make the simple stuff that he'll eat without whining. HE TALKS BIGGER about getting drunk than he actually drinks, but he's definitely been soused more than once in his life and has even used it as a way of coping once or twice. Not too strange for his age, really...

Natasha · is pretty finicky and v. much a gourmand. So, she's adventurous in what she eats, especially if it's expensive. I imagine she can cook serviceably and for her own survival, but she ( ... )

Aww yeah, one of Bond's favourite subjects.

- Scrambled egg! No seriously, canonly it's his favourite thing, he even has his own specific recipe for it. But he's a fan of most food so long as it's good quality and well cooked. He's actually not too fussed about fine dining and fancy cuisine, he's just as happy to go to some small restaurant and sample local cuisine.

- Drink? He loves drink. His life is full of alcohol and coffee. But not tea, because he dislikes tea and calls it mud. But yeah, as far as alcohol goes, Bond drinks almost all of it, from mixers to straight out liquor to fancy wine and champagne. He tends to drink most days and due to the heavy drinking, he doesn't tend to get drunk too often either. Which is unfortunate seeing as some of his heavy drinking is to ignore his wooooes.

- As for cooking, I think he can cook and does so with relative ease as he has a good palette for food, but he doesn't do it all that often seeing as eating out is a favoured option. Or getting takeout. Or- back at home- he had a housemaid ( ... )
