You've my support on the matter. I look forward to seeing this in action.

ETA: I also like that someone else is actually doing the 'there are ugly side effects' with the powers bent. :)

It's going to be a hell of a ride, that's for sure. And yeah, as I was researching EMP and the effects on the body from prolonged explosure--it's not good. Paranasal sinus cancer came up like a beast. Sarah's smoking, too, makes this sort of initial cancer more likely.

Support is good. :)

There's a book coming out in November (11, actually) that I highly recommend. It's called The Emperor of All Maladies by Siddhartha...AUGH, I forgot his last name. It's complicated. But it's an incredibly detailed, well told history of cancer and what initially kick-started my 'cure' theory. I'll have to type that up at some point.

This sounds very interesting and you obviously have researched and thought it out very carefully.

I appreciate and trust that you do and that you will continue to take care to note what is sensitive material where appropriate.

(I lost my mom to cancer and though I always very much appreciate awareness efforts and really hope this carries forth as you see it playing out, I know I also have to be careful what mood I'm in before I read about something to do with the disease.)

I have lost an aunt to ovarian and lung--last year. She survived for fifteen years after initial diagnosis. I will never make light of this disease and I swear, this plot is as serious business as a plot can be. I have enormous respect for each and every survivor, patient, and family that must deal with this disease.

I've done alotta thinking and I intend to do even more. I am a research hound, so, as this plot progresses, I'll be pulling in medical articles, research, and as much information on cancer (both historical and modern) as I can.

*hugs so much* That's a massive loss and you have as many hugs as you want from me. I'll do this plot justice, I promise. <3 And I'll make liberal use of cuts and warnings when sensitive stuff does come around.

Thanks very much. *big hugs back*

On an intellectual note, I will be very interested to see the results of the research you've done. Good luck with the plot.

Phase III trials have begun (old link, but still). That article says it does it without hair loss and nausea, but the reality is that they'd use it in conjunction with conventional cancer fighting treatments. It's pretty badass, though. 8D

And thanks. :D

It's obvious you've really thought long and hard about this and have done a lot of research and I applaud you for that. I look forward to seeing where this goes and wish you the best of luck.

Thanks! Gonna be a tough plot to work with, but in the end, I hope it helps.

There's a lot I want to say, but I can't figure out how to word it without coming off a little silly.

But you're not alone, and you definitely have my support.

I think it's great you're dealing with it like this. As it's already been said, it's clear you've put research in. Cancer's always going to be a touchy subject, but then it can be very interesting to explore things like this in an RP format.

That whole last paragraph is especially brilliant. I don't know much about cancer, but losing my granddad to it when I was small remains one of the worst experiences I've been through. Currently my grandpa's in remission for cancer, one of my uncles has terminal cancer and I've had to have one of my rats put down because of it just a few weeks back, so you can see it's caused a huge amount of upset in my family over the years. Finding out there are breakthroughs like that is great, even if they are still a work in progress.

It'll be fascinating on multiple levels, that's for sure. And as a writer, it's a challenging subject both in a personal sense (I had an entire line of great-aunts die from breast cancer as well as my aunt, who died last year from what was initially ovarian cancer and turned into unexpected lung cancer) and in a research sense. I have known people who have been hit by cancer hard, so, in a sense, this is my tribute to them as well.

For Sarah, cancer will become a substitute for her universe's Terminator--if that makes sense. There was no way I couldn't touch on the subject and it was an idea that grew even more as I began the research this time around. There have been so many insanely fascinating advances in oncology and I have a few ideas myself--which I need to write up.
