Heads Up on Personal Plot

Oct 06, 2010 12:05

Since this isn't gamewide and only effects a handful of people, I'm not posting this to the main OOC community.  I did, however, want to give people advance warning.  All the information about this plot is contained within the post linked to this image as well as my reasons for the plot.  Yes, I am dealing with cancer.  Yes, I know this can be traumatizing and leave people uncomfortable, but my goal in doing this is to effectively bring two items to light--cancer as a disease (in this case, a rarer form of cancer--paranasal sinus cancer as well as adult onset of leukemia which will be dealt with at a later stage) and the fact that not all powers that come from the Porter are good for the body.  This is going to be a long plot, one that will stick around for the duration of Sarah Connor's stay at Cape & Cowl.  Also, I am tired.  But I have been looking forward to putting this plot into motion for...eight years.  My Terminator cast thinks this is awesome (hi guys!) because they'll get to deal with shit they didn't get to touch in canon, I think it's great because I get to explore cancer, Sarah Connor's thoughts on mortality, and sit down and do some serious writing on a topic that needs more exposure.

Plus!  I found out that as of August this year, the Herpes virus was genetically/biochemically re-engineered to successfully fight cancer.  Two years down the road from the study where 17 UK patients with head/neck cancer were treated with the Herpes Cancer Virus (at 92% cure rate, two relapsed after high doses of the virus were given), the cancer free rate is at 82%.  Bite that, cancer.  Mind you, these were small tumors at Stage 0-I, but still, this is awesome and incredible news that mirrors my own theoretical cancer cure thoughts.  Right.  Image is a link to the full timeline and more teal dear from me.

(Edit: OMFG, REALLY.  I cannot spell or type or format today.  DAMMIT.)

a robot did it, *plot, drugs, go back to bed, assholes all of you, !!!!!!!!
