I have a habit of keeping pencil and paper by my bed at night, and I have a habit of believing I have solved complex philosophical issues IN MY SLEEP, which leads to the habit of scrawled notes that I a) do not remember writing in the morning and b) are hilarious ( Read more... )

I have this amusing problem, too. A recent gem: "The habits--e.g. climbing 57 stairs--give it the air of legitimacy: it must be fine if you can grow bored with (habituated to?) any aspect of it." This is probably brilliant, but I can't figure out what "it" is ( ... )

Yes, I had thought of that line as an embodiment of everything I meant. Us literary whores at times believe everyone has said it first and better. I adore you and your thoughts, both the nightly and those in the sunshine!

I was laughing out loud at this. I've a habit of that. I wish there was some way to combine them, in some sort of poem, or if that would detract from their momentary, singular brilliance.

Yes, but yours are ever so much more practical than mine. I love them. Especially the Torah grammar idea.
