Boskone, or Dude, Where's The Snow?

Feb 19, 2010 21:07

Stomach bug aside, we had a good time at Boskone this year. For the second year in a row, we were able to attend the convention from gavel-to-gavel. We found ourselves on the same flight up as samthereaderman . Unlike last year, he wasn't hobbled by a bad foot and saddled with a leg caddy, so we were able to split a cab three ways.

Beneath the tag lies sax and filking )

boskone, cons, friends

I really need to get busy on the premium CD. (I do have recordings passed along from Boskone to mine. Thanks, Filkferengi! for doing the recording there.)

And pester me in e-mail if there's anything you need from me (us).

Permissions likely. Will you be at Lunacon? We will need to sit down and actually make sure I get notes of what is going to be on there.

Nope, not doing Lunacon. Would like to, but the pit of suck that is I-95 means we need to take a vacation day if we want to get there at a reasonable hour. And we have other things on our plate. We will be at FilKONtario.

As CGC and I were driving through snow near Buffalo, N.Y. on Saturday, I thought "Doesn't this snow know that Gary is at Boskone?"

My powers have changed. I no longer curse conventions with snow.

The new curse is that it snows if I commit to attending your birthday party. It's happened twice this winter, so far.

It was indeed a great circle. Will have to schedule another one sometime, when the con and lineup are right.

You're always so pleasant (and sing so well!) that I had no idea you were suffering from a stomach bug as well. Thanks for the kind words about my songs: I rarely get exactly the right audience!

I wasn't that badly off yet at the Tolkien circle; it wasn't until shortly after the circle that I really started feeling crappy.

It was good to see you and Sheryl. Sorry you were ill! (There might've been something going around; I had a low-grade stomach bug starting late Friday night, myself, though I was mostly better by Sunday.)

You too. Suppose there could have been a bug going 'round, although I didn't hear any other reports.
