Because of course Lex wants Clark to save the world. No world=No Clark, after all. If Clark can't actualize his full potential as the greatest hero, Lex can't realize his as greatest foe. It is incredibly Lex to believe their destinies are entwined, and indeed, they are. This is their bond - and Lex just wants Clark to hurry on up and save the day so they can carry this dance on, forever. Clark: "I'll always be there to stop you." Lex: "I'm counting on it." And so they're linked, for all time to come. Lovely! There could hardly be a more perfect summation of their relationship!
Fantastic review. I'm trying not say too much until I get my own review up, but you do such an excellent and fair job of reviewing this episode. I'm going to miss your reviews so much.
It saddens me so much that we no longer have a fandom to share. :-( It sounds like a very strange thing to say but it's like, we always had each others backs, y'know? It was comforting.
//Tess said he would forget everything, and then we saw his memories getting erased, starting from the moment he showed up in the Pilot, until the Fortress collapse at the end of season 7. So honestly, I think it's pretty clear that he forgot everything from the Pilot in season 1, to his last final appearance at the end of season 7

Yay! Someone who agrees! I'm not completely delusional then---or, y'know, we can be delusional together, heh.
//Jimmy and a reference to his brother!//
Completely unexpected for me, as I'd missed his name in the credits.
//MM refernce! It would have been nice to see him.//
One of my many gripes with this season.
