Am I foolish to take a class next quarter where 90% of my grade is based on a paper? It's on Scandanavian politics, and would fulfill both a political science requirement and would count as the (one) needed class for a Norwegian minor, but...still. That 90% thing scares me

Neh. Do it ... it's like me and my perioperative nursing as opposed to child & family health. The former is harder and more obscure, but I'll probably do better because I'll find it more interesting.

I'd happily do it, but then, I'm a paper geek - give me any paper, any size or type, and I can handle it and pull a low A even at my worst.
