my mom hijacked the harry potter book, but not before I grabbed it to read the last few pages. I am proud of myself for totally calling both the ending mostly all the characters who live and die. now I just need to read it for the minor details in between... just because I want to see how she finished off the series. but yeah, what'd you think of it.. you won't spoil it for me. I could care less about that (clearly).
I've been housesitting. Again. With no internets : ( Sawwwrrrry. I still totally love you though.
The more I talk about Harry Potter with people, the less I like the book. It's like all the stuff that I missed when I first read, or that I forgot and didn't like is somehow outweighing the bits that I did like. The final battle scene was AWESOME, but the epilogue sucked. A lot. So...I'll have to wait and probably see the film when it comes out...a zillion years from now. I can't complain too much, just because Neville lived and he's my favorite <3
The epilogue pissed me off. I'm sorry and I'm glad to see what happens to people but CHEESE. Oh, the cheese.
But there were parts of it that were good, yes. But there were some parts that were lagging, like you said, especially in the case of one person's feelings against another person's.
The epilogue doesn't exist in my mind anymore. That's the only way I'll be able to not be angry at JK forever. An epilogue would have been okay, but um...Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione? Really? I could believe one of the couples staying together, but both? Not to mention that I can't picture an adult Harry. *grumble, grumble* I hope it gets cut from the film, heh heh.
The battle scene was SO GOOD. Even though, omg Fred died (and I heart him). I really loved how she wrote it. I could see everything perfectly, and hear their voices. Just. WOW. Neville killing Nagini made my life. If he didn't take out Bellatrix, Nagini was a terrific second.
