[Alex's voice is kind of raw, as though he hasn't slept in a while, and monotone as though he's trying to keep his worry guarded] Claire wasn't home when I got in last night, and I haven't heard from her since. Has anyone seen her?

[slight quiet whimpering in the background from the dog]

[Alex's voice is somewhat grainy and heavy with sleep, as though he's just woken up. Because he has. He still hasn't quite put together what exactly is going on yet. Before speaking, he lets out a sound that's something between a grunt and the clearing of his throat.]
