Every now and then I see stuff about journalism in the 70s, like the Watergate journalists? They seemed to be genuinely good people trying to do something genuinely good for the benefit of their fellow people.

It maybe wasn't all like that. But, yeah. THey should never have let the mega corporations own all the news outlets.

While I'm a bit of a newshound, I don't care to see the over coverage of things. Also as the weather gets nice outside, I'm not sitting in front of the tv.

I think they should go back to a one hour nightly news programme, instead of the 24 hour news channels. Focus on better quality, and forget this endless drive to fill the air time with fluff.

Sad truth, in both cases. I follow these things out of technical interest/concern but I can't stomach the mainstream news; there are aviation geek channels where you can observe actual industry folks piecing together what actually happened, minus the political and the conspiracy theories.

How could it be worse? An American and Russian backed death-squad military junta which has acted towards the Islamic president it overthrew in such a way that any terrorist campaign against Egypt can now be entirely justified as necessary.
