Mal is visiting. Kaylee's a fan. Kaylee is less of a fan of being left behind to do all the cooking while Simon and Mal get to go have fun at the market, but they both have marching orders to get her a really excellent present.
And besides, Mal got to go through the vegetable garden and point at things he wanted to eat, so Mal can just get over it. Also besides, Kaylee still isn't over the myriad joys of having a full-service kitchen and access to all the ingredients ever.
