The very last thing that Kaylee does, the day before Simon gets home, her very last adventure that she can only have with him gone (because that's what she's been up to, all this time, being bad and living as she pleases, rather than to please, or to try to please) --

It's pretty amazing what you can live with as long as you know that no matter what stupid mistakes you've made, your family loves you without question, and wants you to come visit as soon as you can, or that they'll come to you as soon as you're ready.
