The Generic Blues

In The Dream-Quest for Unknown Kaddath, a story by H.P. Lovecraft (yes, I'm talking about Lovecraft again. Deal with it) the hero Randolph Carter's goal is basically what the title says--finding the mysterious city of Kaddath he's wanted to find all his life. He has a lot of picoresque adventures while locating the place until at the very end he ( Read more... )

It's true, I really do need to start getting out more. Less time to dwell on this crap. (And thanks for the rec. I've heard mixed reviews but if it's sheerly for the 'bad' factor then I can put up with just about anything.)

if you can't find childhood make a new one. Thats what I did. if need be help yourself to my trashy comics and fantasy books, I have many. ice cream is good, personally i prefer karamel sutra, in part for the horrendous name.
total intergrationinto a social group is difficult. unless a snew one forms or is large neought to safely support new members. but hey, I'm a relative newcomer.

sorry about february, for that i have no words other than: at least you don't have lent.

Weirdly, that's the second time I've read about that story today, assuming that's the one with the demonic flying things (granted, that's like ALL of his stories from what I can tell) that tickle people.

See, I looked up tickling on Wikipedia. I hate that word, "tickle." It's one I go out of my way not to use, and now I've used it like three times. But I wanted to confirm a dumb bit of trivia for Jack's new foot, so I used it.

It was research, I say. Research!

Anyway, sorry you're feeling down. You know what makes people feel not down? Transformers! I'm trying to make this a running gag now, see. Also rambling, weird comments from punch drunk friends who are typing at 2 a.m. instead of going to bed like they totally should. But then there would be no reason to wear their purple robe, which came in the package their Mom sent them today ( ... )

Damn. I have no idea what to say to try and comfort you, because I'm going through the same thing exactly. I have nostalgia attacks all the time, and I try so hard to hold on to the past and the reassuring secureness of it that it's preventing me to go forward with my life.
I wish I could just hug you.

And, eating till I puke is one of those quick fixes I still indulge in from time to time, but god, does it not last long. Perhaps I should try adding the 'reading trashy novels' aspect to it. Or even better, reading horribly written, smutty House M.D. slashfics.

House, huh? I actually haven't watched any, although I've been meaning to a) to see what all the fuss is about and b) 'cause Hugh Laurie is awesome. And yes, horrible literature is always a good fix for those pesky emotions.
