This is the bathroom at my parents' place. The locks on those bathrooms have the locking mechanism and a piece on the other side of the door that holds it in place. If you pull on the lock, it'll fall apart and the piece on the other side will fall out and you're stuck.

This has happened more than once. IN MY DEFENCE, THEY FALL APART REALLY EASILY. Fortunately there is usually someone around to rescue me.

it's a screwdriver which has a flattened end. A lot of screws have that line-slot (people typically use knives to screw or unscrew them).
