I finished reading this book yesterday and found it to be a great help. I like the approach the author, Dr. Harvey Karp, proposes and his techniques are for the most part wonderful. They've been working quite well. V doesn't have serious behaviourial issues, but like any toddler she does challenge us at times and has the occasional tantrum ( Read more... )

Well that's just one little thing in an otherwise great book. A lot of it is obvious, though, to any mindful parent.

That said, there may be a few things in it that would be beneficial for you. If I were you I wouldn't buy it, but I would borrow it from the library or from a friend (you can borrow it from me if you like.)

I don't mind you contacting me. Am surprised my LJ message thing wasn't working, perhaps it is full. Thanks for letting me know.

Sorry to disappoint you but I don't know anything about Romani culture. I moved here with my parents when I was 3 months old and am fully Canadian. We don't even have any relatives in North America and my mother cut off contact with her family when we moved here. My father is Polish and we grew up speaking Polish, visiting Poland and getting to know his family only.

So unfortunately I have no info to offer you at all, sorry.
