Diya will do fairly well. Top 3-4? He's very quick and light on his feet, but would have to focus on tiring and disarming his opponent more than beating the snot out of them, since he's not that big or strong. His training is pretty top-notch look he has a skill guys and it'll be one of very few occasions where he's totally serious and attentive to the task at hand. Will get crushed when he goes up against Avith and/or Emilian.

Avith, in archery, will do well, but I guess depending how well others do will determine his spot? He's not particularly interested in archery, he finds it boring, but he's highly focused and something of a perfectionist, so you can be sure he'll be doing his damn best.
I imagine it'll be between Avith and Emilian who wins the melee. Needless to say, whoever goes up against him is going to get the shit beat out of them. And he will enjoy it, regardless of who it is. He has a lot of experience, he's fast, quick-thinking, and outright brutal. He also doesn't tire easily. By the end of it he'll be banged up, but he won't feel it until later when the adrenaline's worn off. Couple that with his earlier focus and perfectionist behaviour and, well. How it goes against Emilian (or whoever else feels they'll place high), let us talk \o/

tbh i'm rooting for avith for spring champ, totes cool w/ rolling off for the other positions. except diya, he is adamant about kicking diya's ass.

Laurent, on the other hand... Someone like Emilian and Avith would kick his butt (Avith especially if he slips into berserker rage mode), but Laurent is capable of holding his own against some people. XD You would be very hard-pressed to get his sword of out his hand, though. That is his baby. Disarming him would be a challenge, but it's definitely not impossible. He'd probably be okay with being knocked out early, though, but he's not going to let someone win, either. He's going to put up a good fight regardless of how it works out.

In the melee, he's much stronger. He's a very adept swordswman, but his judgment isn't so good. He can't predict his opponent's next move or analyze their fighting style. So, he probably makes some bad calls and blows his matches. Whenever he gets hit, though, he pops right up, so I imagine he'd go up against Avith or Emilian, get the stuffing knocked out of him and have to forfeit due to an injury.
