Today I finished reading Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, the third time I've read it, but the first time in - seven years? Wow. And I will say, seven years makes such a vast difference in both understanding and appreciation. What a completely fantastic, amazing piece of literature. I can't remember ever reacting to a book this way before.

Them's some fine stationery.

I had read it in 10th grade, and then last year heard the last two thirds or so on audiobook. Wow! You're right, that is one of the most incredible books. She wrote it when she was 16, right, then never published another book? Flabbergasting.

Well, she never published another book, but I think she wrote it when she was in her 30s. But it's semi-autobiographical, so she'd probably been composing it in her head for years. :)

That makes me glad. It seems inhuman that a 16-year-old could write that.
