Today I finished reading Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, the third time I've read it, but the first time in - seven years? Wow. And I will say, seven years makes such a vast difference in both understanding and appreciation. What a completely fantastic, amazing piece of literature. I can't remember ever reacting to a book this way before.
And so I wrote her a brief letter telling her as much (c/o her agent). She probably still gets scads of fanmail even now, but I hope she at least enjoys the
stationery. (What? It's really nice stationery.)
