i've had the album 'donuts' by J Dilla for a long time now and i've always thought it was rad, but last night i finally heard it. i put on my over-ear headphones and the brilliance and beauty hit me full on for the first time. maybe it's because i'm going through another family death and he wrote most of the album on his death bed in the hospital

J Dilla is definitely backed.

If you're into Donuts (and if you haven't already) I would strongly recommend you check out the collaboration album he did with Madlib, "Champion Sound" under the name JAYLIB. Absolutely stunning.

i really dig the instrumental disc attached to Jaylib, but in all honesty the MCing wasn't doing much for me.
