sometimes things take time

i've had the album 'donuts' by J Dilla for a long time now and i've always thought it was rad, but last night i finally heard it. i put on my over-ear headphones and the brilliance and beauty hit me full on for the first time. maybe it's because i'm going through another family death and he wrote most of the album on his death bed in the hospital, but i was overwhelmed.

it's truly a masterpiece.
