He wanted
blood. That much was obvious to Aizen. Well, it couldn't be helped. Aizen smiled, raised an eyebrow, and turned to face Grimmjow. In many respects, Grimmjow reminded him of several of his former co-workers. Most notably, Aizen was reminded of Zaraki Kenpachi. Kenpachi's love of fighting and blood were legendary. Both seemed to show themselves now in Grimmjow.
Even Kenpachi had had his usefulness. It was much like aiming a weapon. Point it in the direction you want and "fire" it. Clean up the mess afterwards, and you were all set. But Aizen didn't want to use Grimmjow just in that manner. He preferred to think that there might be other redeeming qualities also to the Arrancar.
"Well, since it may take some time for Ulquiorra to bring back the tea, I will answer your question. Yes, there will be some "shinigami blood" from these seeds that were planted. But first, we need to know just what they are doing in Karakura." He raised an eyebrow. "After all, it would be foolhardy to rush in without knowing everything about what our opponents were up to. Wouldn't you agree?"
Aizen was leading into something with this, something he might not have wanted the other arrancar to hear the way he was going on. It made Grimmjow suspicious first off, but more than suspicious, it peaked his interest.
He tilted his head up, clear eyes trying to decipher just what the shinigami overlord had in mind. But, it was also sounding less and less like the arrancar were going to get to storm Karakura and completely blow the shinigami out of the water in one giant sweep.
"Well, I figure, whatever the hell it is ain't good. As long as they're dead... more dead, it don't mean shit what they were planning, because they can't do a damn thing about it," Grimmjow offered, sullenly.
"It's better to overestimate your adversary than underestimate them, Grimmjow. Even though the shinigami cannot defeat us, it does not mean that we should be lax in our estimation of them."
It sounded Zen, but Aizen felt it worked well enough for his purposes. If he was going to keep the shinigami off guard until the hogyoku was ready to fully awaken. That required time, and time was something that he did not want to give his opponents the luxury of.
"Besides... the sooner we see what they are up to, the sooner we can begin crushing them. Wouldn't you agree?"
Ugh. Aizen could have verbal diarrhea of the worst sort sometimes. But, as long as he kept Grimmjow hooked, that was what was important. And the constant promises of finally getting to sink his fist into something other than the walls and the occasional hollow was more than incentive to keep listening instead of blowing the overlord off.
"Yeah, but how long's findin' out what they're up to gonna take?" he pressed, "Weeks? Months? We gotta strike when they're not ready an' if we poke around and take our sweet time, they ain't gonna be anything like unprepared," Grimmjow scoffed.
