*drinks coffee from the kitchen*

Mm.

Compared to the stuff I came in with, this is terribly substandard. But I only had two thermoses.

*sips kitchen coffee*

I'm done with the first thermos, so I'll have to save the other one so I can try to reproduce it. I can't live off this stuff for very long.

*gulp*

Unbelievable...

Then why are you drinking it?

So don't drink it if you think it's gross.

...Let me ask you something. If your optometrist told you you were nearsighted, would you gouge your eyes out?

What's that got to do with anything?

*finishes cup, gets new one*

I must admit, I was so absorbed in my tea studies that I realized I had been neglecting my coffee studies only recently ^.^;;; So, I am to blame if the coffee is not to your liking. I apologize. I am trying to improve my recipe. Might you have some pointers for me?

I don't remember any special brews of my own, but I have a thermos of one up in my room that's simply divine. If you could reproduce it, it would be the start of a beautiful friendship between the two of us.

*sip*

Of course I'd be willing to look at it. However, unfortunately, I can't guarantee that we will have the same beans in this world (it's my understanding that coffee beans come from many parts of the world elsewhere). That may hamper things a little *ponders* But, I'll see what kinds there are and bring some samples back ^.^

It's not just about what type of bean you use! You need to experiment with the roasting, grinding (I can already tell this beautiful stuff of mine is a fine Turkish grind, just by tasting it), brewing method and even some light seasoning, because I'd swear there's the faintest cinammon tinge in the aftertaste of this brew.

As black as a moonless night. As hot and as bitter as hell itself. That's coffee.
