Sometimes lately I've been getting down on myself for not standing up for myself more at work. But the reason I'm putting up with insanity on my big project right now is the fact that the program has been cancelled, and it will never happen again. At least it will all be over soon. And big congrats on your promotion!!!

Ummm, yeah, I totally get it and I would say I spent the better part of a year leaving my own fingerprints on my ankles. 2 reasons, I needed to go about this the right way because I had seen people around me doing it the wrong way and I had heard what got said behind their backs and I was trying to get pregnant, so I was sloffing off what went on at work in lieu of keeping my spirits up for more pleasurable (literally and figuratively) ankle grabbing. *wicked grin* So yeah, I totally get why you're putting yourself through that...just don't let them do it to you forever or else I'll have to come kick a little cathedral ass which I pretty sure will land me in hell if everything else I've done hasn't already secured that position! Hang in there cookie - you can do it! :)
And thanks for the congrats!

Over the past few days/weeks, I have had some coworkers advising me to speak up, but as I told them - if this event wasn't being permanently discontinued after this, I certainly would have.
It was a great learning experience, though - I think I've got a better understanding now of my own absolute thresholds for what's 'reasonable'/'doable'/'too much of a stretch', as far as what I can handle.
