And the winner is...

Well 2009, so far so good...
Last October was my 2 year anniversary in my current position, which some of you may recall was a bit of a roller coaster ride.  I was stuck under someone who wanted me to pick up the scraps and was willing to throw me under the bus to save their own neck on any given day.  This all sort of culminated when in September a ( Read more... )

..My hair isn't gray, it's white. I'm only 29 and I have at least a handful scattered, not in some cool "Rogue" like streak.. oh no, scattered.. which my friends love to point out I'll be white before I'm forty just like my Dad.

>.< You know it' sbad when your only grateful it's not balding!

Exactly if I could get that cool Rogue streak or something ala Stacey from What Not to Wear, I would be happy but OH NO...it's one here, then one there...ugh!! I was hoping to stay clear of coloring it until 40 but this does not bode well! lol!!

Don't pluck them! I have been told when you pluck one, two grow in it's place. Eek.

I have had greys in my hair since I was about 18 or 19, just not very noticeable. My husband, who is 29, is also almost fully grey.

I resisted the urge to pluck as I had heard the same room. I knew a kid in High School that was almost fully grey upon graduation. All these years I thought it wouldn't matter to me and now I'm finding that it does! Oh well, nothing to do but accept it I suppose.

I've been finding grays for a while...stopped pulling them out when I realized it wasn't 2 growing back (they really don't) that was of concern but going bald instead. *LOL*

I've colored it a few times but...I'm not really into the upkeep of it. Oh well...I guess I just take after my mom.

Nope, no curls. My hair is naturally straight - the curls only come with a perm and I haven't had one of those in about year.

Eesh - I remember you telling me about that work incident on the phone. I've said it before and I'll say it again - some people are just sadistic, or douchbag-y, or both. But it sounds like the incident was a true catalyst for you - the timing, the way you were proactive about it afterward - seriously, things happen the way they're supposed to sometimes.

Sometimes lately I've been getting down on myself for not standing up for myself more at work. But the reason I'm putting up with insanity on my big project right now is the fact that the program has been cancelled, and it will never happen again. So at the moment, I'm bending over and taking it, if you know what I mean. ; )

At least it will all be over soon. And big congrats on your promotion!!!

Someone's spent the entire night catching up on my LJ...LOL! You cutie you.

Ummm, yeah, I totally get it and I would say I spent the better part of a year leaving my own fingerprints on my ankles. 2 reasons, I needed to go about this the right way because I had seen people around me doing it the wrong way and I had heard what got said behind their backs and I was trying to get pregnant, so I was sloffing off what went on at work in lieu of keeping my spirits up for more pleasurable (literally and figuratively) ankle grabbing. *wicked grin* So yeah, I totally get why you're putting yourself through that...just don't let them do it to you forever or else I'll have to come kick a little cathedral ass which I pretty sure will land me in hell if everything else I've done hasn't already secured that position! Hang in there cookie - you can do it! :)

And thanks for the congrats!

Have I mentioned I'm very happy to see you in LJ land again? (Not that I've been active much, but it does give me hope for hopefully a more prolific-LJ time in general).

Over the past few days/weeks, I have had some coworkers advising me to speak up, but as I told them - if this event wasn't being permanently discontinued after this, I certainly would have.

It was a great learning experience, though - I think I've got a better understanding now of my own absolute thresholds for what's 'reasonable'/'doable'/'too much of a stretch', as far as what I can handle.

Personal thresholds is surely a good thing to have understanding of! And I am happy of that....I am also happy of the opportunity to rejoin the lj world :) especially because I have sorely missed my favorite red head :)
