Remember when I mentioned that the house next door burned down? They're finally tearing it down this week, as well as the one right next to it. The same week that the house next door burned down, they also tore down the house at the end of the block. Kord was out of town for that, he was out of town when our old house got torn down, and he's out of ( Read more... )

Love the nursing outfit picture - you are severely cute in that! And the cake looks tasty, mmm mmm. Congrats on your graduation and I'm positive that you will be passing that test as well. If you can take a knee-check, there's no way a paper test is going to stop you. ;)

Thank you! you seem to have started a wonderful trend in which people compliment me and call me "cute".

The test is actually computerized, but you're right. I'm not afraid of it. If they're planning on intimidating me, they're gonna have to bring out the ninjas. :P

And I happen to walk by when the demolishers are in flagrante delicto -- how does a house burning down translate into razing its neighbor?

Anyway congratulations on finally having the exam scheduled. I, too, like the uniform picture.

thanks!

There were a lot of ashes in the debris from next door, so I guess the damage was more extensive than it appeared from outside. I still don't know why the other house had to go. A razing of convenience?

Not only did they tear down the house next door, they also dug up half of our shared driveway. Yeah, it technically belongs to the property they razed, but it's a gravel driveway and I'm afraid to use it now because I fear it'll give way under the weight of the car and I'll end up in the pit. Grrr!

The NCLEX (RN licensing exam) is a comprehensive computerized exam between 75 and 265 questions, depending on how well you do throughout. That's it. It's crazy to think that 75-265 questions determines who can be a nurse, although they screen us plenty throughout nursing school by kicking us out for almost anything. I think my class started with about 80 students, and 35 graduated with me.

We specialize by getting a job. Advanced practice nurses can specialize further in grad school, but for just the basic RN, 2 years is just not enough time to specialize (I don't think it's enough time to learn everything we need to know, period. They say it's just to learn the bare-bones-basics of nursing, and that most of our practical knowledge is accumulated on the job)

It feels great to be done, but it'll feel better when I start working.
