Thank you so much for this story! I love historical GO fic, and especially fic set during wartime, so I was particularly pleased to see that this story was set during WWII (btw...I played a recording of Vera Lynn singing "We'll Meet Again" as I was reading the air raid scene - wonderfully atmospheric. Good choice of song for Sophie to be singing to her cat!) Also...I love Crowley forced to do something nice, especially when it's against his will (which...it almost always is), so the scene where he's forced to help rescue Sophie and her cat and protect the city was perfect.

Plus wonderful footnotes (1) - thank you so much for including them! And the art at the bottom (Crowley in his Zoot suit and Aziraphale in his warden's garb) is totally FTW. Thanks again, mystery author, for such a thoughtful gift!

can't tell you just how much I love this story!

I love the concept of Aziraphale as a Air Raid Warden, too -- it's really quite fitting.

I also sincerely appreciate the level of research that went into this -- or maybe you're a WWII history buff? Either way, THANK YOU for writing something like this. Historical GO fics are my favorite.

Actually, I am a WWII history buff, but more about the Pacific side fo the war, so I did have to research about Britain. I did know about the air raids before I wrote it, though I had to look up the specifics. You are very welcome and I'm glad you liked it! :D

I loved this! I have such admiration for good fic, and especially for good historical fic. The details really bring this to life. I can picture it all quite easily, and I love the artwork - slim Aziraphale in his warden duds looks so dapper! Poor thing though, overworking himself like that. I wonder what he'll own Crowley for the favors...? ^^
