The existence of this list pleases me more than it probably should. But I collect reference materials on obscenities and profanities, and this fits nicely into my collection.

This entry is, likely, only of interest to byrne, janedavitt, and tygerseye (and maybe not even to them), but the rest of you will just have to put up with the style geeking. :-)

I am here to speak out in protection of the word "fulsome."

The American Heritage Dictionary (4th edition, 2001) defines fulsome as:

adj.Offensively flattering or insincere. See Syns. at unctuous. [ME fulsom, abundant, disgusting]
