Hee! I did the same thing when I first heard about Dexter.

When he puts on his killin' henley... it's Pavlovian for me. That show breaks my brain, how it makes murder both horrifying and hot. It's both, it's horrihotting. I get confused.

I love a triptych, and I'm more than partial to this one... the continuation of colour through all threee is cracking.
I don't know Dexter very well, but I know enough of the premise to like the red and greyscale contrast blood-ness here. :)

So THAT'S how you use the fill-draw thing! :D \o/

Thanks so much! \♥/

It's where he keeps his souvenirs, eek.

I love the fill draw thing!

Eeep, you drew creepy serial killer trophies. (thankfully in a minimalist style *g*)

Trophies!

Oh, Dexter. He creeps me out in the best possible way.

Speaking of Dexter being creepy, this is somewhat random, but today I saw a photo of a really cool and creepy Dexter campaign in an art blog post on inventive advertising and thought you might get a kick out of this too:
advertising Dexter in a Supermarket with fake body parts at the meat counter

Ack, no, I hadn't seen that! I knew about the blood fountains, but not the meat counter. That's kind of awesome.

I think those inventive ad campaigns at darkroastedblend are so much cooler and less offensive and less tiresome than regular ads, but... I don't know how I feel about some of them. I mean, stabbing victims?

Aaaand, in keeping with the Random Recs theme, here's something you may already know about, and may or may not be interested in: nomads_ink, for learning comics.

Clever! <3

Good restriction of color, and object isolation. The white scratch on each tricked me at first, but it's an indicator of movement, yes? ^_^ Nice!

Thank you very much!

I wasn't quite that clever but I love that idea. It's a by-product of me drawing the background last rather than first. But my original plan was something similar, with arrows and diagrams and inset closeups... kind of like the Ikea scene in Fight Club, I guess... but then I saw this video, which is so brilliant it sort of stopped me in my tracks.

Earlier this week, I was looking for something to watch and decided it was past time to give Dexter a try. I fell in love with the show pretty fast. Now, after racing through the whole first season, I remembered you'd done something for the show a while back (checks date stamp ... 2 years? Wow, I am behind the times) and wandered over to have a look.

I admit that I really had no idea what I was looking at the first time I saw this, but now that I have the appropriate context I can finally appreciate the awesome. Yay! I enjoy your style so much!
