I finally saw GoF last weekend, and as is my habit, I'm now tagging along behind the rest of fandom with my (potentially spoilery) impressions. ( 'Yes, shrubberies are my trade. I am a shrubber.' )
Haha - I do not scoff! Filch was definitely the hero of several humorous intermezzos, of which there were a nice sprinkling throughout - his high stepping it up and down the great hall had me laughing out loud.
I didn't like the movie when I saw it - it felt too much like a series of scenes, of which some were completely unexplained - but I'm sure I'll appreciate details like single characters, costumes, certain scenes and the architecture more, once we have it on dvd and I can watch it again.
You must be shy and reclusive as I've wanted to get to know you better for quite a while, but still haven't managed to find out your real name, what you do, or anything else much - apart from random facts like your redneck culinary background *lol*
Some scenes seemed to go by so fast, didn't they? I couldn't catch a lot of what was going on. Like, when they first arrived at the World Cup. There was this big chaotic whirl of activity, and I couldn't focus on any one thing. And more than that, I couldn't tell where the director intended for me to focus.
Also, I think I missed a lot of what the twins said, because they were so rapid-fire. And, um, I'm not sure about this, but I think Hagrid grabbed Madame Maxime's ass? LOL
I can't wait for the DVD; I'll probably keep it on constant replay when I first get it.
man, your gof thoughts are a delight to read. you're the only other person i've come across that regrets the complete absence of house-elves, as you put it.
i did not squeal when draco went down on goyle. i did not. totally did not. nope, nosiree.
disappointing that not more folk adore filch. BUT! the filch will prevail. *nods*
I agree. I really want to make some dumb geek joke here, like "Resistance is futile; you will be filched" or "What you say; you have no chance to survive make your filch."

I had a hard time looking at the big picture as well. I can't wait to buy this on DVD to watch over a few times :)
