I finally saw GoF last weekend, and as is my habit, I'm now tagging along behind the rest of fandom with my (potentially spoilery) impressions. ( 'Yes, shrubberies are my trade. I am a shrubber.' )
Haha - I do not scoff! Filch was definitely the hero of several humorous intermezzos, of which there were a nice sprinkling throughout - his high stepping it up and down the great hall had me laughing out loud.
I didn't like the movie when I saw it - it felt too much like a series of scenes, of which some were completely unexplained - but I'm sure I'll appreciate details like single characters, costumes, certain scenes and the architecture more, once we have it on dvd and I can watch it again.
You must be shy and reclusive as I've wanted to get to know you better for quite a while, but still haven't managed to find out your real name, what you do, or anything else much - apart from random facts like your redneck culinary background *lol*
I know what you mean about the "series of scenes" feeling. I got that, too, but I couldn't tell how much was the fault of the movie, and how much was just me being over-excited. And I found some of the scenes confusing, too, but then I couldn't tell if that was a result of me spending the past two months in a stalled re-read of GoF, or if the movie failed to connect some dots. I mean, I wondered if I would be more or less confused if I'd never read the books.
But yeah, hehehe, I kept reminding myself all through the movie to just try and enjoy it, and save the detailed examination for when I get the DVD.
Also? Your girl is such a sweetie! We don't celebrate that holiday 'round here; I had to go look it up. :)
