Eva suddenly appeared in the vast chamber where the final battle between herself and Canaletto had taken place. It was utterly dark. The Pyramid of Power stood before her, bathed in a soft blue light. Nine azure orbs circled the stone pyramid slowly, as if deliberating.

Jordan, his back facing Eva, stared up at the beings who had shaped Oban and granted him his powers. He was dressed in his Avatar robes.

"Eva," Jordan said, turning his head. "I--sorry about that. They ... well, we can't very well keep the creators of the galaxy waiting, can we?"

The nine orbs continued to hover before the pyramid, silent.
