Title: Life is a Highway Pairing: none Rating: R Warnings: Mention of non-con and child prostitution. Spoilers: Set during season one. So, none, really.
This is really well done. I love the how the outsider POV shows us aspects of the boys we don't normally see. I also like how scary they appear to Stevie. It reminds me of the scene in Jus in Bello where the boys are brought into the police station, in cuffs, and we see how they really do look like scary (and HUGE!) psychopaths if you don't know them.
I have a serious weakness for outside pov's, especially in this fandom, and that's exactly why. The way Sam and Dean look to people who don't understand what's going on is very, very different from how we see them, having the inside scoop.
This was great. I went off and read The Old Block after part 1 -- thanks for the link. Yours fits well with it -- loved it too. I admit to kind of feeling sorry for the repellent Stevie, not that he didn't deserve everything he got!
I actually think The Old Block was one of the first fics I read in this fandom--it's definitely a classic, and deservedly so. I'm just glad that fleshflutter was nice enough to write this spin-off.
