This makes a lot of sense for Sam's POV on things. The scene of him watching Lisa comfort Dean was lovely.

Oh, Sammy, Sammy - you got some 'spainin' to do.

This was well written (better written than a lot of the show) and while I don't like Sam's reasons here, at least you gave him some reasons. Good job.

Yeah, Sammy's got some work cut out for him if he wants Dean to trust him again :P. I'm really not in love with his reasons either, but I think this is something that Sam could justify to himself if he tried hard enough--he's pretty good at building houses of cards.

For all that you're not on the same page with Sam, you're doing a wonderful job with him here. I went "yes, THIS" not only once. :)
And, heh, trying to get into Sam's head is pretty much the reason for half of the SPN fic I've written so far. *rofl*

Btw., do you mind if I friend you? I tried tracking you to keep up with your fics first hand, but LJ's fucking that up. *kicks it*

*grin* Thank you! In some ways, Sam's POV makes a lot of sense to me, which might actually be why I have trouble feeling very sympathetic toward him--I'm actually a little too much like him, so his shortcomings make me wince in a very personal way :P
