Got a decent outline set up for the 25 page attempt now, so should be getting started on that soon. I was asked to attempt the "write your part of the story next" idea again. So here we go, I'm going to leave it very open ended

Johnathan slowly edged his head up. Just as his head reached the proper level, he was blinded by a ray of sunlight that none of his shorter sidewalk-mates seemed to notice. He pulled his huge sunglasses over his eyes, drawing a second taken-aback glance from a passing pretty girl. Johnathan sighed, and got moving.
He wondered briefly if Vic knew it was his half-birthday. Why else would Vic insist on meeting today? Despite Johnathan's best efforts to delay their discussion (indefinitely) until tomorrow, Vic was adamant. A cloud passed by overhead. Johnathan left his goofy glasses on anyway. With his luck, he would simply be blinded again the moment he took them off.
