New adventures

The weekend before last I went up to attend Great Gransden show in Cambridgeshire. It was quite a drive but the Shire display came highly recommended.

What was particularly nice about the day was that in addition to seeing my beloved herecirm I also got to meet the entirely charming fleefloodle which was a real pleasure.

No they aren't! I wish I had got one when you turned round while you were untacking though, that would have been ideal.

For the look of horror on my face? You are a cruel man. A cruel man with a camera!

No, you looked like you had just stepped out of some kind of bridesmaids procession to take the bridle off a massive horse. It was awesome.

The bracken is all dying back but it has been so warm it's easy to forget it's October already. It's weird because in terms of seasons this is about what it was like when I visited Australia in May...

I love that shot of shire-feathers - so full of movement! And looking at the coloured horse line-up, I do wish I had shares in the horse shampoo industry.

Fingers crossed Zorro comes right soon.

I bet it's all cowboy magic with those. That seems the best way to get a mane running nicely.

Most excellent photo-age, as always! XD Seeing great pictures of lovely horses is almost the next best thing to being able to get out and about and actually go play with lovely horses.

It must be so frustrating not to be able to do that. :(

Yeah....on the bright side, I am getting better at *doing* stuff - the body adapts to circumstances, and I can cope with driving now - so hopefully before too long I'll manage a longer drive to go and see a friend's pones.

I bet it's fun playing with shire horses though.

It certainly is. Really makes you appreciate how much we trust to training when you are working with animals that overpower you so absolutely.
