Game Idea: Pirate Fighter

I've been playing a few Pirate themed xbox games recently, they all have sword battles, but after a few rounds the novelty wears off as they're not very complex. What us gamers & pirate nerds need is a street fighter 2 style game: Pirate FighterIt'd perfectly suited for that style of game play, combos, counters. Characters with fast light damage

Have a go at Sid Meyers 'Pirates!', that is meant to be a bit like that.

I'd say that is what he is playing. There aren't any 'street fighter' style fights, just ship vs ship and a STUPID dancing mini game which I hated. Albeit, I didn't play it for long, the game didn't grab me that much.

Yeah the dancing is stupid!!!! Ballroom Dancing Dancing Revolution. But it's worth doing cause you get cool presents from the babes :)

There are some 1v1 sword fights like the captain when you board a ship, fiances of governors daughters, criminals. But those fights suck, you just have to know when to stab and when to dodge. I wish it was like SF, thats what made me think of this post.

There is another cool section of the game, when you invade a city you get a turn based strategy mode, where you move your musketeers to cover, charge with swords down the hill. All with the usual strategic bonuses for terrain. I was surprised to find that part of the game since it took me several hours of playing before I killed enough English to warrant them trying to blow me outa the water from their strongholds :)
