Yes, it is 2006 and I just read Sophie's Choice. I had no inkling what it was about, as I avoid book blurbs and movie hoopla with passionate ostrich-ity. Very well written. I can't say I "enjoyed" it, but I did want to read to the end. The author made it sound like Sophie's choice was a singular incident, but I have a vague notion I have heard
