Yes, it is 2006 and I just read Sophie's Choice. I had no inkling what it was about, as I avoid
book blurbs and
movie hoopla with passionate ostrich-ity. Very well written. I can't say I "enjoyed" it, but I did want to read to the end. The author made it sound like Sophie's choice was a singular incident, but I have a vague notion I have heard similar accounts. ? But I can't remember a specific one, so maybe not.
Stepping into my bedroom to put my bag away after bringing the kids
home from
school, the words "cold as a tomb" came to mind. But I did put a sleeping bag in a comforter cover to cover my bed, hopefully that will protect me during sleep. My room is colder than the rest of the
house as it is most seriously nestled in the cold shade of the hill, not even receiving sunlight on it's roof. All the kids have started using comforters already.
