Putting aside my understanding as to why certain individuals (the ones who have valid reasons ie her methods and the forseeable, negative/hurtful outcome, and not the homophobic/omghowcansheadmitthatsheisntgayihatehernow ones) are bothered by the t-shirt as well as her subsequent Tumblr post, I absolutely love everything about this ‘essay’. I wanted to quote my favourite part, but I’d probably end up reposting everything. It was beautiful and kind of made me tear up a little. And again, yes, the medium may be questionable (and probably the wrong way to go about it), but imho her intentions are not.
Those people need to get the fuck over themselves tbh. Some people enjoy being martyr's and the ''victim'' It's pathetic.
Her intentions were pure, and she's an all round brilliant person. This is all that matters. But whatever, the positive response has been epic. She's gained a ton of new fans.
I think she only wore it at the 8 pm show! My friend's pics from the 3pm show have her in the Lucy Caboosey shirt. I was at the 8pm and she most definitely wore it to that one!
You don't know her intentions. What I actually meant to say was that her 'message' was good (though undermined by the use of "Born this Way" of all songs in support). She could have conveyed the message in a variety of other ways that weren't so false (I don't know if that's the word I'm trying to get at), yet she chose to do it this way. She knows her audience and she played them effectively. I'm not going to commend her for making an unnecessary spectacle, but for the most part, the message in her essay is... nice.
