I laughed out loud at Chris' film's synopsis. Look at that sweet innocent face, and now imagine him plotting everyone's downfall! Hope doing a quirky indie film is a good experience for him - I can't imagine being lucky enough to pen and star on *your own project* before you even turn 21.
He is ridiculously talented, but he is also very very lucky that he was given a chance and I think he is smart enough to know that - you need more than talent to make it in the business, and with the danger of getting typecasted so early, I think he is being very clever by branching out and working on writing as well, using the contacts and the attention the show has brought him to do something that plays to his strengths instead of just grabbing the first thing he is offered simply because it will give him money and visibility. It may be a small film that only plays in the festival circuit, but this strikes me as a good career move in the long run.
I agree. I mean, he made such an impression on RM that they WROTE A PART FOR HIM, and how often does THAT happen? Like never.
I hope his movie is successful, even if on the festival circuit as you say, b/c producers/directors will take notice. My guess is that Chris will eventually end up directing/writing/maybe producing, and he has said in his interviews that he would like to write. I would be happy to watch anything he writes (he should write for Glee, so he has a better story line, IMO, and so would every other character).
