But Microsoft doesn't build computers. You're thinking of Apple. (Cue the Computer Holy War music...)

Ha! That would be the problem.

I am sure she meant that since he P.C. already had a Microsoft Windows Operating System that it should should simply come with Word for Windows at least. Maybe not the whole Windows Office Suite, but At least Word.

I'm not sure if most new PCs come with Microsoft Office. Most of the time I download Open Office. It's prpbably not as good as Microsoft Office, but at least it's free.

The newer P.C. that I have seen have Microsoft Works installed. It seems to read the Word files, but it won't upload properly to a word program.

Unfortunately, my housemate has started online classes and the classes require Word and Excel. One of the classes is actually a class on Word.

We try to do free as well when possible. :-)

Ahh, the joys of multiple licenses. I was able to get the On One Plug-In Suite 4 (Super awesome Photoshop ad-ons) from an extra unused license at work rather than having to pay $400-500 for it. It's one of those things that's cool & I wanted but never had enough need to drop the $.
