1) Human Evolution and Ecology is now being taught online. Fuck you, University of Florida. I hate your online classes. Please be better than Microeconomics. Please.

2) Textbook costs are painful. Fuck you, academia, and Bright Futures, for not even covering all of my tuition. 100% is not 100%, and you are assholes for not delivering what you ( Read more... )

Ewwww, I hated Microecon when I took it (online). I wanted to hurl my textbook against the wall so many times.

I don't think textbooks are part of tuition. Tuition is what you pay per credit hour (i.e., only for the classes you registered for). Fees are extra things the University slaps on to pay for other things, like technology fees, student activity fees, etc. The cost for textbooks come from some other source (aka, any scholarship stipends, loans, Mom and Dad, etc.). But yeah, textbook prices suck. Fortunately, the further you get into your academic curriculum, the better you'll know the upperclassman, so you might be able to bum a book off them for free (or at least for a lower price).

Yay, I'd love it if you returned to fanficcing. <3

They're not part of tuition- I should have separated those two into two bullet points. Although until quite recently there was a book stipend included in Bright Futures and it's been taken out, along with them cutting back what they define 100% coverage is. They'll pay you a set amount per hour...which is less than what an hour of tuition costs at my university.
