Riku loved Sora, he’d loved the other boy back when they were all home on the islands. He’d loved Kairi too, because they were so alike that it was hard not to.
SoraKairiRiku or KairiSoraRiku. Both teens were all smiles and laughter, scraped knees and haphazardly made bandages, and bright, bright light. Ironically, Riku had realized later on, as much as he loved them, they weren’t even his. Sooner or later it would just be SoraKairi or KairiSora, and Riku, on his own- but it was okay because they would be happy
Liar. Absently, Riku trailed his fingertip across Kairi’s cold, pale cheek, feeling Sora sigh a gust of cool air and slide his arms around the older teen, nuzzling the nape of his neck affectionately. Riku smiled faintly, glancing at the younger girl’s wide open, blank blue eyes, before turning his attention to the other being in the room. Sora, Anti-Sora, actually. It was the Sora who didn’t really care about having Kairi’s heart because it was already gone, it had been for a long time now, and she was just a shell or a puppet. The Sora who Riku trained with, walked with and slept with, curled in blankets though neither of them could feel the cold- he did it anyway because the old Sora probably never would have.
At that moment, with Sora and Kairi right there, he loved them more than ever because they were his.
