Things I am liking (and looking forward to)

Oct 23, 2012 13:10

glammetalkitten was saying on Twitter that she missed the Good Old Days of LiveJournal when our friends lists were buzzing with posts, fannish glee and fic.  You know what?  I do, too!  So I thought I'd at least post and say so.  And maybe talk about some geeky things and entice her back...

I have seriously fallen behind in my comic reading. I am pissed off at DC ( Read more... )

Fixed it :) See how out of practice I am with LJ??

I think Arrow will continue to piss me off with the changes to the mythos, but... have you seen his back (in the trailers)? If the plot doesn't do it for me I'll keep watching purely for the muscles.

Tim is still around, but only in the Teen Titans book, I believe. I think he and Cassandra Cain should team up and kick ass across the world but DC never listen to me.

Just watched the first ep and it is really quite good! I am rather surprised. It's very like Green Arrow: Year One in design. We'll definitely be watching it from now on!

Lol, I don't watch any of these shows, but I really do miss LJ from back in the day and how much fun I used to have here. My journal used to be full of my fangirl squealing and rants, several a day. How how times change. So seeing a happy entry like this is nice. =)

What are you watching these days?

I think Facebook and Twitter are where most people hang out these days, but I don't particularly want to announce on Twitter that I've written something absolutely filthy, and here is the URL as I have plenty of non-fannish friends who would die a thousand deaths if they ever read anything porny about well anything. So back to LJ it is!

(I think the frequent downtime of past years probably didn't help, either.)

I agree, and I think Twitter and FB have been the death of places like LJ because they're quick and to the point (which I admit I find appealing), but I think they discourage connection with others with like buttons and such, instead of leaving actual comments.

LOL! Um yeah, my mates round these parts never judge me for my smutty slash lovin' ways. I'm pretty sure a bunch of my rl peeps would disown me if they knew... y'know right after they recovered from their collective heart attack. XD

What are you watching these days?Oh gosh! Okay, so my favourite show of all time has started again recently- The Walking Dead, so I'm obsessing over that A LOT atm. Other's include, Supernatural, Ghost Hunters(I have a massive jones for Jason Hawes. I can't help it, he's SEXY... say the woman who is only usually attracted to androgynous boys and girls. =P ), Survivor (ALWAYS!), American Horror Story, but to name a few. Oh and I LOVE my train-wrecks too so Jersey Shore and it's ended now, much to my unhappiness, The Real Housewives of New Jersey - ( ... )

Ah yes, The Walking Dead! The first season was okay, but we never really connected with it. I think s2 is on Netflix so we might catch up one day, but having read most of the comics I just don't feel the need.

I'm a massive Doctor Who fan, too! Seven is definitely my favourite, but I am a big fan of Eleven, too. He reminds me a lot of Two. I was unsure about him in his first series, but have grown to love him. I think it helps that Lucas has started to watch with us, too! (Most of the Christmas special was filmed in Bristol rather than Cardiff, so we get to have an extra layer of fun in spotting all the locations!)

I liked Torchwood before the Americans got their hands on it. I thought it was an absolutely dire storyline which was stretched paper thin over too many episodes. S2 of Torchwood was the best, I think. (Loved the Captain Jack & Captain John eps.)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they did. I am just ignoring the current books (and I'm not sure how his integration has gone into the main DCU as I haven't gotten around to the magic-using version of the Justice League books yet (Justice League Dark?)) and enjoying the old story arcs. Love Mike Carey's run!
